The state Congress has taken up a survey to ascertain its support base among various communities and whether the state government’s schemes are reaching people.
The party is conducting the survey along with its door-to-door campaign “Mane Manege Congress” launched recently. Booth-level workers of the party are visiting every household and distributing a booklet that has listed out achievements of the state government and the failures of the Centre. Besides, the party workers are requesting people to fill in a questionnaire with 11 questions.
Party sources said that people support, caste, whether Above Poverty Line (APL) or Below Poverty Line (BPL) and whether getting all benefits from the government are some of the questions asked.
“We are conducting the survey to get feedback on the implementation of the government schemes. We will take appropriate measures to rectify lapses, if any,” KPCC general secretary N S Boseraju said.
Meanwhile, KPCC president G Parameshwara has urged the Congress president Sonia Gandhi to hold the AICC session in Bengaluru. The session is likely to be held in October. The Congress leaders in Karnataka feel that holding the AICC session in Bengaluru would boost the morale of the party workers in the state ahead of the Assembly elections.
