The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) will install a football-shaped helium balloon on the Bandra Worli Sea Link to promote the Under-17 FIFA World Cup to be held in Navi Mumbai next week.

“It is our dream project so, we would like to showcase it to everybody. The balloon will have MSRDC and FIFA logos on it and will be lit from inside. We are yet to decide the exact location and height of the balloon,” said a senior official.

As the World Cup matches would be played at Dr DY Patil Sports Stadium in Nerul, the MSRDC is in the process of preparing Nerul flyover. “We are putting up banners and stickers that would direct people to the stadium. We are also painting the flyover,” the official said.

Beautification drives would be conducted in toll nakas at the five entry points to the city. The MSRDC will be spending Rs 8-10 lakhs for the project and work will be completed by October 2.
