Siva Balaji is officially the winner of the first ever season of Bigg Boss Telugu. The actor was given the title of the reality show and a cash prize of 50 lakh last night by Jr NTR after 71 days of successfully surviving the house.
According to Tarak, out of the 12 crore odd votes received for the final week, Siva Balaji won a record of 3 crore 40 lakh votes. While the Arya actor took home 50 lakh, Adarsh was named the runner up with 8 and a half lakh votes. Surprisingly, Hari Teja and Navdeep who were both considered strong contestants and also season favourites were ranked third and fourth respectively. Archana took the last place among the finalists.
"Really happy to see the audience vote this way, I did not expect to be here and I always thought I will get eliminated way before. I always remember saying, I will step out only with the audience wish for it. Also, I am here today majorly because of my housemates. I credit them 100 percent for helping me finish this journey so peacefully," said Siva Balaji. The season one winner signed off thanking the audience for the unexpected response and expressing love for his wife Madhu and the housemates.
Along with Tarak, the grand finale also saw music director Devi Sri Prasad take over the stage in a special appearance. The two grooved to the famous 'Where is the Panchakatu' from Adhurs among other tracks and kick started the final episode. There were also peppy performances by Prince, Diksha, Madhupriya and others from the ex-housemates.
Siva Balaji made a direct entry into the finals, after being nominated as the captain during the last week of eliminations. But, the actor during the first few weeks actually received huge flak for being the 'angry young man' of the house and faced several elimination weeks.
His famous tiff with Adarsh and other outbursts put him in the spotlight for quite sometime. However the last few weeks changed the ball game. Siva Balaji and Hari Teja became the new best buds while he also established a good relation with Diksha and his friendship with Navdeep was well known. Thus with majority votes and like Dhanraj quoted 'huge airport cutouts' Siva Balaji took home the title.
From OPPO selfie moments of the 71 days to mood swings, makeovers, Siva Balaji's trademark dishes, Navdeep's entertaining commentary and Archana's cutie camera, the build up to the final week was like a perfect throwback to the entire journey and definitely stirred a lot of emotions.
The last week in the house saw all the ex Bigg Boss Telugu contestants re-enter the house and later take stage with Jr NTR. Everyone except Kalpana and Mumaith Khan were present in the house to celebrate the grand finale along with the five finalists - Siva Balaji, Adarsh, Archana, Hari Teja and Navdeep.
Diksha Panth who was the last to be eliminated this season, walked in to the house first and surprised contestants with her tone of entry. She left housemates puzzled about whether she was still in the game or she was just visiting. Later with the entry of old contestants like Sameer, Sampoornesh Babu and Prince, the atmosphere changed.
Bigg Boss Telugu, in the midst of all the twists, entertainment and tears proved to be one hell of an entertaining reality show with surprisingly less drama. There was never over dose of what actually happened in the house and throughout the 10 weeks, contestants set the atmosphere on a rather light tone.
The highlights of this season and elements that audience will definitely miss is got to be Hari Teja's Hari Katha, Siva Balaji's recipes, Navdeep's Tinku, Adarsh - the family man, Prince charming and of course Archana and Bigg Boss's camaraderie.
What will be dearly missed is definitely Tarak's hosting and Naa Tv. Jr NTR had taken to the small screen for the first time and received stupendous response from the audience. The actor's weekend gigs were a breathe of fresh air and his fun hosting ensured every weekend was a laugh riot, even during the eliminations. From the very first week, Jr NTR got the buzz for taking everyone by surprise with his new avatar.
In true Tarak style, it is a wrap for this season and now we can't wait to know if Jr NTR will back at it next year too and once again welcome us with his trademark "Entharo Mahanubhavulu, Anthariki NTR Vanthanamulu"
