Showing off her bold avatar, Devoleena Bhattacharjee surprised fans with her latest photoshoot. The pictures evoke sensuality and grace and TV’s dearest Gopi bahu looks no less than a superstar in all these images. Stating that it was a sudden plan, Devoleena in an exclusive conversation with indianexpress.com shared, “It just happened. There were no plans and all of a sudden I decided to get a photoshoot and though I was a bit nervous it was beautifully pulled off.”

The actor became a worldwide sensation with her portrayal as the sanskaari Gopi bahu in Saath Nibhana Saathiya. Her new pictures are in stark comparison to her iconic character. When asked if the new avatar would help her break the traditional image of Gopi, the actor said, “Why do I need to break the image, it can survive in its own way. Gopi is a fictional character and I was extremely lucky to play it. But in reality, I am Devoleena and I like being me.”

When asked about the feedback she received for her bold pictures, the actor laughed to say, “Surprisingly I have only got positive responses. My family, friends and fans have always showered me with love and support, which really motivated me to do this. I am forever thankful to them.”

Female actors sadly are trolled and slut-shamed these days on social media, be it Esha Gupta or Mahira Khan. Devoleena, who feels lucky to have not faced any trolling, added, “I think there are some people who use social media to share all their negativity around. I feel if you don’t like something ignore and avoid it. That’s easier rather than spewing negativity. If one can’t motivate at least don’t discourage someone.”

To our query on whether she will be open to doing bold scenes on screen, she replied with a hearty laugh, “I would need to know more about the role and scene before I decide.”

Lastly, talking about her future projects, Devoleena shared, “I haven’t really planned but yes I would be open more to roles of my age.” Good luck Devoleena!!!
