A man was on Monday apprehended at the Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi, for allegedly carrying 10 live bullets in his bag, an official said.
I Hiramani was going through the security checks at the international airport at around 7.00 am when a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel detected few "bullet-like objects" in his luggage, said a senior official involved in airport security.

"Ten live bullet rounds of .32 calibre were recovered from his bag. He was handed over to the police as he could not produce the valid documents for carrying it," he added.

The man was supposed to take a flight to Bengaluru, the airport official said.

Since the past month, the international airport has witnessed several incidents of passengers carrying unwanted objects in their luggage. As per a previous Firstpost article, on 21 September, a bomb scare sent the airport into a tizzy after a suspicious object was found in a passenger's luggage.
On 20 September, a flight that took off from Delhi made an emergency landing at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport, after an unclaimed mobile phone was found in the cabin that created a major security scare.
The unclaimed phone was feared to be a bomb, and the plane was sent to a remote bay at Bangkok airport on landing, with additional security provided, as mentioned in the Firstpost article.
In another instance from 21 August, drone-like objects were spotted on two different occasions at the Indira Gandhi International airport, following which the airport operations had to be halted for almost an hour amid security concerns following the spotting of the objects.
India Today reported that, on 22 September, "a security personnel from a private agency detected an assembled mobile power bank at level 4 of IGI Airport's Terminal 1 during the screening of the baggage."
As per the report, the power bank was an IED (Improvised Explosive Device), and it was the seventh such device recovered in less than a week's time.
