Australian finished session marginally higher on Monday, 25 September 2017, with gains in the healthcare, material and industrial stocks offsetting losses in other sectors. The S&P/ASX 200 index rose 0.03%, or 1.563 points to 5,683.7 at the close of trade. Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 581 to 565 and 381 ended unchanged. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 4.36% to 12.300.
