Pakistan and Russian militaries hold joint drill

The and militaries are currently holding a two-week long joint exercise, the Pakistani Army said here on Monday.

The opening ceremony of the exercise codenamed as "DRUZBA 2017" in Mineralnye Vody in Russia was attended by senior officials of the special forces of both countries, the army's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement.

The joint exercise will focus on counter-terrorism operations, hostage and rescue, cordon and search operations, reports Xinhua news agency.

It will enhance and further strengthen ties between both countries and share the Army's experience in the war against terrorism, the statement said.
