Jio Effect: At Rs 345, Vodafone Offers Unlimited Calls, 1 GB Data Per Day For 28 Days

The country's telecom sector is battling with intense competition since the entry of Reliance Jio. Telecom service providers have kept on offering attractive offers to lure customers. Keeping up to the trend, Vodafone India, the Indian arm of British telecom company Vodafone, has come up with a new recharge pack under a limited period offer, according to its mobile app - My Vodafone. The telecom company is offering 1 GB of data per day for users who buy a pack worth Rs 345 along with unlimited voice calls, it said on its app. The Rs 345 recharge pack comes with a validity of 28 days, Vodafone added. The company also sends a message to its users once it adds the 1GB data under the limited-period offer.

Recently, Vodafone and mobile phone maker Lava had tied up to offer Rs 900 as guaranteed cashback. The offer, valid till October 31, 2017 is available for both new and existing Vodafone customers, it had said.

Upon purchasing a LAVA phone, Vodafone customers can avail cashback worth Rs 50 for 18 months on a minimum recharge of Rs 100 in a calendar month, according to on official press release. With the credited talktime of Rs 50 every month, customers can enjoy an assured Rs 900 in 18 months - which covers the cost of a new handset purchase in most instances.

Recently, when telecom regulator TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) slashed interconnect mobile charges to 6 paise per minute from 14 paise per minute, Vodafone and Bharti Airtel had slammed the move, saying it will worsen the financial health of telecom companies, a charge that newcomer Reliance Jio rubbished on grounds that customers must benefit from falling costs.

Vodafone termed the decision as "retrograde regulatory measure" that will significantly benefit only the new entrant but stopped short of directly naming Jio, news agency Press Trust of India reported.
