A 20-year-old student died after he was caught under the wheels of a car and dragged nearly a kilometre by the vehicle here, police said today.
Gurjot Singh, who studied hotel management at a private university at Landran in Mohali, was declared brought dead by doctors at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), they said.
Singh, a resident of Amroha district in Uttar Pradesh, was hit from behind by the car bearing a registration number of Delhi yesterday, when he and his two friends were returning from their college on a motorcycle.
Singh's two friends fell from the motorbike following the accident, but he was caught in the wheels of the car.
A video made by a person in a vehicle that followed the car, showed Singh stuck in the wheels and being dragged for about a kilometre.
