The Spaniard, who joined the Premier League defending champions from Real Madrid this season, has scored a total of six goals in as many matches. The original chant ended up in a racial controversy for being anti-semitic during the club’s game against Leicester. The chant was aimed at rivals Tottenham Hotspur, who famously have a large Jewish fanbase. ‘Alvaro, Alvaro. He comes from Madrid, he hates the f—— Y—,” sang Chelsea supporters at the King Power Stadium.

Morata had tweeted after the game, “Since I arrived, I have been able to feel your support every single day, you are amazing and I’d like to ask you to please respect everyone!”

However, the fans paid tribute to their hero during Saturday’s match by chanting, ‘Alvaro, Alvaro, he comes from sunny Spain, he’s better than Harry Kane.’

Conte was relieved after the change and said, “It was a good change and I am pleased with the new chant. Our fans were fantastic, they pushed us a lot. In this stadium who push a lot [for Stoke], I want to thank our fans as they helped the team a lot today.”

Morata also took to Twitter and wrote, “Thank you so much for the new song!! You are the best!! #GOBLUES #CFC”

Conte praised the 24-year old after the match and said, “Alvaro played very well and he scored three goals. For a striker that is very important. Don’t forget that against Nottingham Forest the same happened with [Michy] Batshuayi. It means we create chances for our striker to take.”
