Steve Smith’s side received a big boost as Aaron Finch, who did not play in the first two ODIs due to a calf strain, was declared fit for this game. Along with Finch, Australia made one more change with Peter Handscomb replacing Matthew Wade as the wicketkeeper. India remained unchanged. (India vs Australia 3rd ODI Live Scorecard)

In the practice session on Saturday, Finch was running hard and had a lengthy batting session which suggested that he might play. Handscomb was also practicing as a wicketkeeper.

India, up 2-0 in the five-match series, has a magnificent record at the Holkar stadium, having won all four of their ODI games. This is the first time that Virat Kohli’s team are playing Australia at this venue.

In Indore, this is their first encounter since 2001. At that time, they played at the old Nehru stadium and the match saw Sachin Tendulkar become the first player to score 10,000 runs.

A win for Virat Kohli’s side in Indore will see them register their ninth consecutive ODI win, equalling their previous best streak in 2008/09. Victory will also see India achieve a hat-trick of bilateral ODI series wins against Australia at home.
