JKNPP takes out protest demanding compensation for residents displaced due to cross-border firing

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Sunday staged a protest demanding adequate compensation for the families displaced by the frequent shelling and firing by Pakistani forces.

JKNPPP chairman Harsh Dev Singh accused the Centre and the state government for "failing to fulfil" promises made to the families living in villages surrounding the border.

"Several of our teams visited border villages to take stock of the situation following unabated ceasefire violations by Pakistan and found the displaced people living in miserable conditions. "Both the governments are watching their plight as mute spectators and doing nothing on the ground to mitigate their sufferings," Singh told reporters.
