A 67-year-old man sustained injuries after a steel bomb exploded when he was digging a piece of land at a village near politically-sensitive Nadapuram, about 60 kms from here today, police said.
Edvath Balan was working on a housing plot belonging to one Muneer at Thiruvamparamba, for construction of a compound wall, when a steel bomb buried under the soil exploded, around 10 AM, they said.
Balan who sustained injuries on his face, right hand and abdomen was rushed to a hospital in Kallachi from where he was shifted to the Kozhikode Medical college Hospital, they said, adding his condition was stable now.
Investigation is underway, police said.
