From Piku to Bhoomi, a look at some of the best father-daughter relationships on screen [Photos]

The year 1997 saw Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan donning the look of an old nanny in Chachi 420. The film was directed by Haasan himself and stars Haasan, Tabu, Amrish Puri and the Dangal actress Fatima Sana Shaikh. The very next year, in 1998, Karan Johar arrived in Bollywood with his film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. While the film was around the love triangle between Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherji; it was Sana Saeed's phenomenal performance as Shah Rukh's daughter that held the story together. Shoojit Sircar's 2015 film Piku, brought alive a Bengali household where a career-centric daughter lives with her aging father who suffers from chronic hypochondria. In this tale of motion-obsession, Sircar touched every heart with the unspoken, understood and the innate bond between Amitabh Bachchan and his on-screen daughter Deepika Padukone.
