Priest of a temple near Chelakkara, who was interrogated by the police in connection with the murder of an elderly woman, was found dead in his house on Sunday.

Body of Kalyani, 70, of Pulakkode, was found in a bush near the temple in a gunny bag on September 20. Her gold jewellery, including a chain and bangles, were missing. She was strangled with her sari, according to the police. She also suffered a heavy blow on her head. Kalyani, who was living alone, was missing for two days. The police had interrogated many people, including the priest, in connection with the murder. The police found a suicide note from the body.
