Dubbing culture isn't good: Girish Kasaravalli

Vetern film director Girish Kasaravalli has expressed concern over dubbing culture in Kannada entertainment industry.

“Dubbing culture will not only affect employment opportunities for artistes, but the very essence of Kannada culture,” he said in an interaction at Aneka studio on Saturday.

“The dubbing culture will help a few producers and dubbing artistes.”

He said Kannada films were facing tough challenges from other language movies. Regarding successful and good movies, he said: “All successful movies need not be good movies. Success is not the lone criteria for a good movie. Movies like Uyyale and Jenugudu weren’t successful, but have remained in minds and hearts of the audience due to their plots.”
