Police to seek custody of two nabbed in TN for vehicle theft

The city police is likely to seek custody of two people who were arrested by the Tamil Nadu police a day ago for alleged motorcycle thefts.

Two persons identified as Aneesh and Anoop of Valiyathura were nabbed by the Q Branch of the Tamil Nadu police with the support of the Fort police in connection with several cases of thefts that had taken place in Tamil Nadu in the recent past. A subsequent investigation led to the detection of as many as 16 motorcycles from a godown that was located next to the workshop which the youths operated.

According to official sources, the whereabouts of the accused were found on the basis of the statements by a person who had been arrested near Marthandam in connection with the case. The gang is believed to have attempted to sell the stolen vehicles after altering them.

Those arrested are suspected to be behind several vehicle thefts that were reported in various parts of Thiruvananthapuram city in recent times.
