
Aadhaar- a 12 digit identity number issued by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) was made mandatory by the centre for all essential tasks like income tax returns (ITR) and buying a new mobile number. Imagine if the Aadhaar card is misplaced or the enrolment ID (EID) is nowhere to be found. What to do in this situation? People can request the UIDAI to send the information on their personal mobile number. Visit the UIDAI’s official website uidai.gov.in to do the same.
Here are the steps to receive Aadhaar card number on mobile:
Step 1: Visit official UIDAI website uidai.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Retrieve Lost UID/EID’ link.
Step 3: On the next page, make sure ‘Aadhaar Number’ is selected on the left side of the page for receiving your Aadhaar number on mobile.
Step 4: Fill in the required details like name, phone number and email address registered with Aadhaar.
Step 5: After entering these details, click on ‘Send One Time Password’ option.
Step 6: After receiving the OTP enter it in the given field and click on ‘Verify OTP’.
Here are the steps to get Aadhaar enrolment ID (EID):
The ‘Retrieve Your Lost UID/EDI’ option also enables to receive Aadhaar enrolment number. The facility can also be used by applicants who are still waiting for their Aadhaar card.
Step 1: Select ‘Enrolment Number (EID)’ option.
Step 2: Fill in the required details like name, phone number and email.
Step 3: Enter the OTP.
Step 4: Click ‘Submit’.
Meanwhile, mobile numbers that are not linked with Aadhaar will be deactivated after February next year. As per IANS, a number of telecom companies have already started sending alerts to customers to link their Aadhaar numbers with Mobile numbers. These companies had earlier urged their customers to start the process of linking Aadhaar card numbers with mobile numbers, NDTV added.
