Rajiv Gandhi assassination case convict Perarivalan's ordinary leave extended by 30 days: Sources

Rajiv Gandhi assassination case convict Perarivalan's ordinary leave has been extended by the Tamil Nadu government.

According to government sources, Perarivalan's ordinary leave which was set to get over on 24th September has been extended by 30 days based on his request.

AG Perarivalan, serving a life sentence in Vellore jail in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, was granted a 30-day ordinary leave for the treatment of his father on August 25. This is the first time he has been granted parole since his arrest as a 19-year-old just days after Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on May 21, 1991.
