HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress leaders are planning a massive public meeting in the state on December 28, the party formation day, and want to rope in either the party national president Sonia Gandhi or AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi.Speaking at the party’s Indiramma Rythu Baata programme in Warangal on Friday, TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy said that they would train booth-level workers in all 119 Assembly constituencies across TS by Dec 28. “On the day, we will hold a public meeting which will be addressed either by Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi,’’ he said.

Addressing the gathering, Reddy said the Congress is ready to checkmate TRS in the next elections. Expressing satisfaction over the successful conduct of training programmes in the last five days, he said that the enthusiasm displayed by party workers was a clear indication that Congress was all set to return to power in 2019 elections.TPCC would also organise birth centenary celebrations of former PM Indira Gandhi on Nov 19 by hoisting flags in all villages. On October 2, Mahatma Gandhi’s Jayanthi, dharnas will be held in all Gram Panchayats against GO 39, which annihilates the powers of local bodies.
