The Karnataka High Court has ordered three officials of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to build the staircase for Khalsa Public School in Madiwala after it was removed for widening the road.
The school authorities had approached the court questioning BBMP's move. They had complained that students were facing problems since there were no steps for them to access the school. The court ordered the officials to build the metal staircase.
Since their order was not implemented, the court ordered assistant engineers Praveen Lingaiah, H C Rajashekar and H M Gopala Reddy to build the staircase at their own cost and help the children access the school. The court also ordered replacement of windows and doors that were removed during widening.
