The Congress on Saturday launched the ‘Mane Manege Congress’ (Congress for every home) programme to inform people about what it called the government’s “Kaam ki Baat”.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s famous radio show ‘Mann ki Baat’ would not work against the Congress government’s Kaam ki Baat. It would checkmate the BJP in the next elections, he said.

A mega function was organised here to inform households about the benefits they have received under Anna Bhagya, Ksheera Bhagya, Pashu Bhagya, Arogya Bhagya, Krishi Bhagya, Vasathi Bhagya, Vidya Siri, midday meals, scholarships, and a large number of rural and urban development programmes.

The government will set up Indira Canteens by March next in all district headquarters to make Karnatka hunger free. Already, farmers’ crop loans were waived and more than 150 poll promises implemented, Mr. Siddaramaiah said. He took a dig at the 150 Mission of the BJP and challenged the Centre to waive crop loans borrowed from nationalised banks.

KPCC president G. Parameshwara said the campaign aims at gradually transforming the Congress from being a mass-based party to a cadre-based one with active participation of booth-level agents. About 6.5 lakh booth-level committee members in 54,262 booths in the State would distribute booklets containing the government’s performance to all households, he said.
