'Will seek Goa Cong leaders' support to resolve Mahadayi'

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Saturday that Congress leaders in Goa would be asked to join in the efforts to resolve the Mahadayi dispute out-of-the-tribunal.

But Goa Chief Minister Mano‘Will seek Goa Cong leaders’ support to resolve Mahadayi’har Parrikar has the responsibility to take the Opposition parties there into confidence to resolve the dispute through talks.

He told mediapersons at the airport here that BJP leaders were trying to find fault with the Congress as they could not deal with the issue properly.

“Each state has different interests and the chief minister has to take Opposition parties into confidence. We will talk to Congress leaders in Goa, but who will speak to other Opposition parties there?” Siddaramaiah said, reiterating the need for the prime minister’s intervention to resolve the issue.

When asked about the notice issued by the police to state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa, he said the police were working as per the law, but BJP leaders term it as vendetta. Kidnap is not a small case and some incidents related to the case took place at Yeddyurappa’s residence. He was summoned for interrogation as per the law.

There is some progress in the investigation into the Gauri Lankesh murder case, but that cannot be disclosed, he said.
