CM lauds revenue officials’s efforts in land record purification drive

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday expressed satisfaction over the land records purification programme going on as per schedule. At a review with Revenue officials on Friday, Rao complimented them by stating that the work they are doing is invaluable. He also hinted at giving some incentives and rewards to revenue staff involved in the programme. The land purification programme is being taken up in 10,875 revenue villages in 568 mandals. It has been decided to take up purification of records across 2.45 crore acres.
In the first phase records are being examined and purified in 1,252 villages. These villages have 30.04 lakh acres of land. Of this, 11.55 lakh acres records have been examined. Of this land ownership rights are clarified and ascertained for 9.48 lakh acres (82.10 percent) with acceptance of the farmers.
It is estimated that around 82 per cent of lands would get clarity without problems in the first phase. In the second phase, another 10 per cent of land records would get clarity, officials told the CM. The programme has a special Facebook account dedicated to it. At another review meet on sheep distribution programme, Rao expressed happiness over the successful implementation of the programme across the state.
Massive drive
The land purification programme is being taken up in 10,875 revenue villages in 568 mandals. For this, 1,468 teams had been set up. It is decided to take up purification of records in 1.78 crore survey numbers having 75.54 lakh accounts.
