Bhoomi box office collection day 2: Bhoomi is Sanjay Dutt’s comeback film.

Sanjay Dutt’s comeback film Bhoomi directed by Omung Kumar, which also stars Aditi Rao Hydari had a jump when compared to first day’s collection and earned Rs 2.47 crore on its second day. It had opened at Rs 2.25 crore. The total collection now stands at Rs 4.72 crore. The film, which is based on the relationship between a father and his daughter is the first film Sanjay Dutt has done in a long time and it was eagerly awaited for the same reason.

However, the collection might suffer as two Bollywood films and one Hollywood film eat away at its earnings. Haseena Parkar and Newton might pick up later and it also has a considerable competition from Hollywood in the form of Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

When asked about the film’s competition, trade analyst Girish Johar had said, “All three films will perform well. End of the day, it all depends on the content. If three films have good content, they have excellent chances of survival at the box office. Colin Firth starrer ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ might stand as a huge competition for the film. The western media has already praised the film. It is likely to gain a lot of viewers from the metropolitan cities.”

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures, and said, “#Bhoomi Fri 2.25 cr, Sat 2.47 cr. Total: ₹ 4.72 cr. India biz.”

While reviewing the film, Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta had given a negative review. “Dutt’s face is kept in close-up for much of the film, and there is still power in it. This is an actor who can explode off the screen, given the right story.”

“Maybe he needs something much better told to vent his anger. Or maybe he needs to return as Munnabhai to give us the lessons we love to learn. That would be a real comeback,” she had said.
