‘Participation is more important than winning or losing’

Jaya Prakash Narayana inaugurates inter-state kho kho competitions

Founder president of Lok Satta Jaya Prakash Narayana on Friday inaugurated inter-state kho kho competitions here in Sri Prakash Vidya Niketan. Students from CBSE Cluster-VII participated in the event.

Mr. Jaya Prakash lighted Olympic flame and declared that the games opened. Speaking on the occasion, he said that in his childhood days these games were played in the rural areas in a less expensive way.

Today these games are encouraged by CBSE. It is really appreciable endeavour on the part of CBSE and these games are to be played not for personal reputation but for collective effort, he added.

He stated that every participant should realize that participation is more important than winning or losing. Mr. Jaya Prakash said that the losers have to develop more skills and polish them to develop into talents.

There are many talented people waiting for opportunities, such people have to get opportunity to come into light, he said.

“Skill is bestowed by nature and God. The opponent in sports only opponent for the game itself. We have to treat him as our friend throughout our life,” Mr. Jaya Prakash added.

International volley ball coach M. LLias Shameem congratulated all the participants. Sri Prakash Educational Institutions secretary Ch.Vijay Prakash stated that the team spirit, sportiveness would develop among students with the games.

He felt happy that their institutions have been given a responsibility to conduct the Cluster VII.
