Leicester City came close but Liverpool saw it through. It is not something we have been able to say a lot about Liverpool of late but they denied Leicester getting a third goal. Jamie Vardy will be ruing that missed penalty. It may have been a great save by Simon Mignolet but Vardy could have directed it better. But the fact that Liverpool could not hold on to a 3-1 lead for even a minute only shows that their defensive woes are far from resolved. Jurgen Klopp’s celebration at the full time whistle shows what an important win this was for Liverpool
