Sharjah ruler’s visit: traffic restrictions in city

The curbs will be in place from Sunday to Thursday

Traffic restrictions will be in place in the city from Sunday to Thursday in view of the visit of Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah and member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates.

Restrictions will be imposed on vehicular flow and parking along the route passing through Shangumughom, All Saints, Chakka, Vazhamuttom, Vellar and Kovalam from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Similar restrictions will be in place along Kovalam, Vellar, Vazhamuttom, Thiruvallam, Kumarichantha, Kallummoodu, Enchakkal, Chakka, Pettah, Pattoor, General Hospital, Asan Square, Martyrs’ Column, RR lamp, Corporation point, Nanthencode, Devaswom Board, TTC, Museum, Vellayambalam, Raj Bhavan and Kowdiar from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on September 25 and 26.

Moreover, traffic and parking restrictions will also be imposed along the stretch passing by Kovalam, Vellar, Vazhamuttom, Thiruvallam, Kumarichantha, Kallummoodu, Enchakkal, Chackai, Pettah, Pattoor, General Hospital, Asan square, Martyr’s Column, RR Lamp, Corporation point, Museum, Vellayambalam, Keltron junction, Manaveeyam Road, Althara, Vazhuthacaud, Xanadu and Thycaud from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on September 26.

On September 27 and 28, strict restrictions will be in place along Kovalam, Vellar, Vazhamuttom, Thiruvallam, Kumarichantha, Kallummoodu, Enchakkal, Chakka, All Saints and Shangumughom in the morning and evening.

Parking has been prohibited along Kowdiar-Vellayambalam-Museum-RR Lamp-VJT-Asan Square-General Hospital-Pettah-Chakka, Vellayambalam-Vazhuthacaud-Thycaud, and Airport-Chakka-Enchakkal-Kovalam bypass routes on the days. The police have cautioned strict action against motorists found to violate the regulations.
