Ujjain: Former manager of district cooperative central bank, Sunderlal Vyas who has been found guilty of embezzlement has been given a 20 year jail term, along with Rs 26 lakh penalty.
He was involved in the crime while he was posted at Ghosla branch, between July 2010 and March 2011. The manager who took over from Sunderlal, Bapusingh Chouhan, registered a complaint against him on May 2011 at Raghavi police station. Vyas withdrew an amount of Rs 1.60 lakh and Rs 3 lakh from the accounts of ‘Sewa Sahkari Sansthan’, Ralyata Hewat and Parsoli respectively. He also sanctioned fake loans to 13 people. Raghavi police presented Vyas in court, where ADJ PC Gupta pronounced him guilty under Section 409, 471 and 467 of the IPC.
