Bhopal: Rain refuses to abate, warning issued

Bhopal: Refusing to abate, torrential rain continued to lash various parts of the state for the third consecutive day on Friday. Monsoon is vigorously active in Bhopal and Gwalior divisions while in Sagar, Ujjain, Indore and Jabalpur divisions, it is though active but have relented a bit.
Heavy downpour was also witnessed in other parts of state including Ishagarh which recorded 26cm rain, while Chanderi recorded 20 cm while Mugawali recorded 19cm rainfall in the last 24 hours.

Kurwai recorded 18 cm, Karera 16 cm, Pichhore 15cm, Shajapur recorded 14cm during this period. Ashoknagar recorded 13cm and Nalkheda recorded 11cm rainfall. Bhikangaon, Begumganj and Sironj each recorded 10cm rainfall in the last 24 hours. In Bhopal city, weather was almost clear with clouds patches hovering over the sky. Warning has been issued for heavy rainfall at isolated places over Chambal, Gwalior and Sagar divisions and Vidisha, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Agar, Hoshangabad, Betul districts in the next 24 hours. Besides, Rain and thunder shower likely at most places over Gwalior and Chambal divisions and Tikamgarh, Chhattarpur and Panna districts.

It may also rain in some places at Hoshangabad, Bhopal divisions and Damoh, Sagar, Satna, Rewa, Dewas, Ujjain, Shajapur, Agar, Indore, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Jabalpur, Narsingpur, and Mandla districts. According to meteorological department, during the next 24 hours, monsoon will be active over parts of Madhya Pradesh. A low pressure area has been prevailing over Chhattisgarh and adjoining East Madhya Pradesh. With this, weather conditions will remain conducive for more rains.
