Mumbai: Around 9,000 results are held in reserve (RR) even after the Mumbai University (MU) has declared all the results of 477 examinations. Though students are relieved that their results have been declared finally some students are still waiting for clearance. These withheld results are being declared on the website www.mumresults.in every day to reduce the apprehension of students.
Over 73,430 results were withheld as RR as some of the answer scripts were misplaced and could not be traced. The assessment of such students could not be completed as the evaluation of these few answer scripts was pending. Around 2,300 answer scripts were misplaced as per the MU.

These answer scripts are being tracked and the university is declaring incremental results on the website. Arjun Ghatule, new head of the examination department of the MU, told the Free Press Journal, “We are continuously conducting the assessment of these results that are withheld. We are declaring the results of various courses practically every day on the website as and when the evaluation is completed.”
The answer scripts that were untraceable are being tracked by the university. Devanand Shinde, acting Vice-Chancellor of the MU, had earlier told FPJ, “The answer scripts that are misplaced may have been scattered and placed in the wrong basket of a different course. These answer scripts are not lost and we have managed to trace them.”
Apart from RR, the other issue that students are facing is application for revaluation or rechecking. The university is trying to cater to students to clear the revaluation cases. A senior official of the university said, “There are a large number of reevaluation cases in the engineering and Commerce courses. Also, the re-evaluation process for diploma students of the law stream will also be decided by the Board of Examination soon.”
