In a rare move, a couple will leave behind their nearly three-year-old daughter and property worth Rs 100 crore to embrace monkhood today. Sumit Rathore (31) and his wife Anamika (30) were fascinated to accept diksha from Jain acharya Sadhumargi Ramlalji Maharaj after attending a religious preaching. The couple hails from Madhya Pradesh. They came to Surat on Friday from Neemuch and started preparations for attaining monkhood. Their daughter, Ibhya will now be taken care of by the family. According to family sources, the couple got married four years ago, a report by the Indian Express said.
To witness the wealthy couple taking blessings from Jain monks, a large number of followers of Akhil Bhartiya Sadhumargi Sampraday has arrived at Vrindavan Party plot on Ghodod Road. Jain Acharya Sadhumargi Ramlalji Maharaj belongs to Akhil Bhartiya Sadhumargi Sampraday (sect). Somji Hata, Surat president of Akhil Bhartiya Sadhu Marg Sampraday (Sect), said that Sumit had come to Surat on August 22 to attend a religious preaching and showed interest in accepting diksha and attaining monkhood, as per IE
The couple is also well qualified. Anamika completed her BE degree from Rajasthan and Sumit had done a diploma course in import and export management from London. Later, Sumit got involved in the family business of making sacks for cement companies. The Rathore family stays in a “haveli” spread over 1.25 lakh square feet. Meanwhile, The Gujarat child rights panel today sought a report from civil and police administration about steps taken by a Jain couple, who are embracing monkhood tomorrow, to secure their three-year-old daughter’s future, as per PTI.
