Agency areas on high alert after Naxal firing, Telangana-Chattishgarh border sealed

KHAMMAM: A high alert has been sounded in the agency area of Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts following the exchange of firing between special party police and CPI(ML) New Democracy party naxals in which the naxals managed to escape.As per the instructions of higher officials, police launched search operation and formed special teams to nab escaped naxals. Meanwhile, security has been tightened in TS and Chattishgarh state border areas and the entire border has been sealed as escaped naxals may cross the border to take shelter in Chattishgarh.


Additional forces of grey hounds, special party police and CRPF have been deployed in border areas and suspected places. Forces have taken up combing operation in big way in the agency area and as well as in border areas. On the other side, special party forces intensified combing operation in Siddaram forest area where 25 naxals escaped on Thursday in the exchange of firing. Officials deployed huge forces and are searching every nook and corner in the tribal villages.


Higher officials are shocked as to how the naxals escaped though they had meticulously planned to nab the naxals as they had specific information about their presence in the forest area.Taking it very serious, officials instructed forces to nab escaped naxals at any cost. It is learnt that the higher officials expressed angry on officers who led teams in Thursday’s operation.Infact, it is a wonder that all 25 naxals escaped miraculously though police rounded them with latest weapons, said one official. Another police officer said, “We are unable to digest it and making internal inquiry as to how the naxals escaped even without even a small injury.”


Meanwhile, police launched vehicle checking in agency area and all mandal head quarters and are not allowing any person without showing their identity proof.Tension prevailed in the agency areas of Yellandu, Gundala and Tekulapalli. Tribals living in the agency area are under the grip of fear apprehending that major incidents may takes place.
