New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) has denied that the company is in talks with any entity to sell stake in the media company.
In a statement issued to the stock exchanges, NDTV said that the “promoters of the Company have not entered into any agreement for sale of their stake in the Company to any person.”
Shares of NDTV, however, have been locked at their upper circuit of ₹ 53.10 on Friday as reports of Spicejet owner Ajay Singh taking majority stake in the listed media entity has been doing the rounds.
As per the latest shareholding pattern of the company, promoters own 61.45 per cent stake in NDTV with Prannoy Roy and wife Radhika Roy directly owning 15.94 per centand 16.32 per cent stake. The rest of the promoter stake of 29.18 per cent is held by their jointly held holding company — RRPR Holding Pvt Ltd.
A total of 17.55% stake is held by three foreign portfolio investors — Eriska Investment Fund, LTS Investment Fund and BNP Paribas Arbitrage.
