KOCHI: The Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) has called for the formation of a committee headed by the Chief Minister to implement the government’s labour policy.
“Minimum wages, as prescribed by the law, should be paid to workers. Besides, special a financial package should be announced for traditional workers,” INTUC State president R. Chandrasekharan said.
The union said trade union activities should not be curbed in IT and textile sectors and hospitals.
Mr. Chandrasekharan said Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi would inaugurate the State committee office of the INTUC in Thiruvananthapuram on November 28.
