    Narendra Modi is in Varanasi today and the prime minister is set to launch several infrastructure projects in his Lok Sabha constituency.Modi would be dedicating Deendayal Hastkala Sankul, a trade facilitation centre for handicrafts, in Bada-Lalpur near Varanasi. 

Prime Minister Narenda Modi will be on a two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi starting Friday. During the visit, the prime minister will inaugurate several projects covering sectors like infrastructure railways, financial inclusion and sanitation.

Modi would be dedicating Deendayal Hastkala Sankul, a trade facilitation centre for handicrafts, in Bada-Lalpur near Varanasi. The biggest highlight of the day will be the Mahamana Express, which will be flagged off by Modi. The train will connect Varanasi to Vadodara and Surat in Gujarat.

Modi's second day in Varanasi

On Saturday, Modi will not only be inaugurating several development projects but also address several gatherings, where he will speak with farmers and weavers and interact with Muslim women. The prime minister will briefly participate in a sanitation-related activity in a village of Shahanshahpur, where he will be distributing certificates to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural and Urban) before addressing the gathering.

Modi will inaugurate nearly 17 infrastructure projects including the Ramnagar-Samne Ghat bridge and the Balua Gha bridge, and lay the foundation of nearly six project including Ramna Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), said Bhardwaj.

The prime minister will dedicate to the nation a community kitchen ('Annakshetra') near the famous Kash Vishwanath temple, Varanasi Divisional Commissioner Niti Ramesh Gokarn said. Modi will also inaugurate 'Pashu Arogya Mela' in Shahanshahpur on the outskirts of the city and address a gathering of farmers.

Modi will also distribute loan waiver certificates to some farmers, whose loans have been waived by the BJP-led Utta Pradesh government.

In a major outreach initiative, Modi will also interact with a gathering of nearly 700 Muslim women at the DLW auditorium, Bhardwaj said.The prime minister will also felicitate some madrassa students, he said.

In the evening, Modi is likely to visit the famous Assi Ghat and participate in a 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' programme.
