
Narendra Modi in Varanasi Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit his Lok Sabha constituency today. The prime minister will be in Varanasi on September 22 and 23. During his stay, the Prime Minister will launch a number of projects. These projects include infrastructure, railways, financial inclusion and sanitation. Apart from attending inauguration ceremonies, the Prime Minister will address public meetings and hold an interaction with Muslim women. Today, PM Modi will be flagging off Mahamana Express train .

10:09 am: Senior railway officials while talking about the new train said that the train will run from Vadodara (Gujarat) to Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) after the PM will green flags it using a remote control.
10:06 AM: The new weekly train will run from Varanasi every Friday and from Vadodara every Wednesday. The 1,531-km journey between the two cities will take 27 hours, 30 minutes at an average speed of 55.7 km/hr, ministry officials said.
10:03: PM Narendra Modi will flag off the country’s third Mahamana Express from his Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi to Vadodara.
10:00 AM: The prime minister will dedicate to the nation a community kitchen (‘Annakshetra’) near the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple, Varanasi Divisional Commissioner Nitin Ramesh Gokarn said.
9:55 AM: On September 23, PM Modi will inaugurate ‘Pashu Arogya Mela’ in Shahanshahpur on the outskirts of the city. He will also address a gathering of farmers there.

9:45 am: According to the Union Water Resources Ministry, the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is “a major step forward in realising the dream of Nirmal Ganga under Namami Gange programme.”
9:40 am: In a statement, it said the STP with 50 million litre daily-capacity will be the first plant to be developed under hybrid annuity-public private partnership model.
9:35 AM: Under this STP model, the development, operation and maintenance of the STP will be undertaken by a special purpose vehicle at the local level.
9:30 AM: Forty percent of the capital cost would be paid during construction while the remaining 60 percent of the cost will be paid over the life of the project as annuities along with operation and maintenance cost expenses for the next 15 years, the water resources ministry said.
8:30 AM: PM Modi will inaugurate nearly 17 infrastructure projects, including the Ramnagar-Samne Ghat bridge and the Balua Ghat bridge, and lay the foundation of nearly six projects including Ramna Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), said Sanjay Bhardwaj, the BJP’s eastern Uttar Pradesh media in-charge.

8:20 AM: On Saturday, the prime minister will briefly participate in a sanitation-related activity in a village of Shahanshahpur. He will distribute certificates to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural & Urban) and address a gathering on the occasion.
8:15 AM: On the Friday evening , PM Modi will visit the historic Tulsi Manas Temple in Varanasi. He will also release a postal stamp on Ramayana. He will later visit the Durga Mata Temple in the city. “I look forward to praying at the historic Tulsi Manas Temple and Durga Mata Temple. A postage stamp on the Ramayana will also be released,” Modi said in another tweet.

8:04 AM: Other projects to be inaugurated include Utkarsh Bank, which specialises in micro finance, ‘Jal Ambulance’ (water ambulance) service and ‘Jal Shav Vahan’ (water-based vehicle for carrying bodies) service, the prime minister said in another tweet. Apart from these, the Prime Minister will unveil a plaque to mark the laying of foundation stone of the headquarters building of the Utkarsh Bank, the PMO said.
