Trump on North Korea

more-in

U.S. President Donald Trump, in his first address to the UN General Assembly, threatened to eliminate North Korea (“Trump vows to ‘destroy’ North Korea”, Sept. 20). The U.S. seems to have a habit of meddling in the affairs of other countries every now and then. In the name of liberating the citizens of that country, it attacks and destroys the nation and then looks the other way. We have seen this in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Iran, and now we see this in Mr. Trump’s threat to North Korea. This is going on even as the U.S. supports and gives aid to Pakistan and Saudi Arabia which are centres for terrorism or which give aid to terrorism. Were all these attacks even justified? Destruction has been on a large scale. Such open threats and war-mongering on public forums by important leaders should be condemned.
