Delhi University handed DUSU president-elect Rocky Tuseed the key to the students’ union office few hours after Delhi High Court served him notice on Wednesday. After a criminal case against Rocky Tuseed came to fore, on Thursday he was suddenly told that the university will have to take legal opinion before he can take charge as DUSU president. Tuseed, along with his supporters were at the proctor’s office all day trying to convince that nowhere in the court’s order mentions that he should be withheld from taking over as the president, Indian Express reported.

Tuseed said that on Wednesday, the university had handed him the keys after the results were announced. “Around 6.45 pm on Wednesday, the university announced the result and handed over the keys. The court order was already in public domain. On Thursday morning, I was told that I cannot go to my office as they are seeking legal opinion. It seems like the university is working under some pressure,” Indian Express quoted Tuseed saying.

On one hand where the university seled the DUSU office, barring his entry, Tuseed, on other hand was admant that he wouldn’t leave until he gets the office keys. The proctor’s office maintained they will not act till there are recommendations from the university legal team. So far there has been no clear indications despite deliberation on the fact that in case the university decides to not allow Tuseed to take charge till the next hearing, scheduled in November what would happen next.
