Pakistan on Friday accused the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) of killing six civilians and injuring around 26 people while resorting to unprovoked firing on civilians across the working boundary on the Sialkot sector.

Four women are among the dead, namely Mariam Mehmood, Mariam Ishaq, Nafees Bibi and Khursheed Bibi. Pakistan military spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor tweeted the pictures of injured and dead and accused India of targetting civilians on World Peace Day.

Inter-Services Public Relations, the media wing of the Pakistan Army, issued a statement on Thursday saying that four civilians were killed in BSF firing in Bini Surniyal village on the border.

“Indian BSF resorted to unprovoked firing of mortars targeting civilian population along Working Boundary in village Bini Sulariyan in Charwa Sector. Four innocent citizens including two women embraced shahadat. Pakistan Rangers Punjab befittingly responded on posts targeting civil population,” the ISPR statement said.
