Pilot hits out at Rajasthan govt over farmer woes

Press Trust of India  |  Jaipur

leader Sachin Pilot today accused the BJP-led of neglecting the issues of farmers.

In a statement issued here, the party unit chief blamed the state for driving a garlic cultivator in Kota to suicide.

Unable to fetch a suitable price for his produce, Prem Chand of Natoda Maliya village took the extreme step, Pilot said.

The leader alleged that the Vasundhara Raje government's announcement of forming a committee to look into the agrarian troubles was a way of "suppressing farmers' protest".

No committee was formed when loan waiver announcement was made in Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh, Pilot added.
