A lunch date in Chennai is being closely watched today. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has flown into the Tamil Nadu capital to meet megastar Kamal Haasan, a meeting many speculate may lead to the actor joining the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

The two will have "political discussions" at Haasan's plush residence amid indications the veteran actor may join politics soon. His daughter and actor Akshara Haasan herself received Kejriwal at the Chennai airport.

While the AAP is tightlipped about the meeting, Haasan himself has given a series of indications lately on his impending political plans. The actor has also steered clear of the BJP or the Congress.

Haasan had been opposing the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, whose political adversary, the DMK, has voiced support for him. Recently, the actor also attended a grand DMK event in Chennai.

Haasan had also congratulated the CPM-led LDF government in Kerala for "good governance" on its first anniversary in May this year., and is believed to have had talks with CPM veteran Sitaram Yechury.

Though Haasan has refused to openly side with any ideology so far, sources have told Mail Today he may come out in the open after his meeting with Kejriwal today.
