Sticking to the objective of International DOT day, students of NIFT-TEA College of Knitwear Fashion have come out with creative designs on different types of clothes.

The day is observed to encourage people of all ages to harness their creativity. It is inspired by Peter Reynolds book The DOT.

To give colour to festivities, 70 graduation students of Costume Design and Fashion formed a ‘dot’ on the college ground to display their creations.

They wore clothes with designs developed by them in VIBGYOR (violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red).

“We have created the designs using acrylic paints. Every design start with a ‘dot.’ As many as 202 students took part in the four-day exercise,” said M. Sindhuja, and S. Karthick.

The students chose black for the dots. If the seven colours of rainbow were mixed, we get black, they explained.

They created wall hangings, and decorated bottles with the theme ‘dot’ apparent on the surface.

“The designs on the clothes are developed in tune with the present commercial trends and hence, could be easily be used by the present generation,” said G. Vasumathi, head of Costume Design and Fashion department.
