Parents attend ‘Impact’ at Telangana Social Welfare Residential Schools across State

The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Schools across the State wore a festive look on Tuesday as scores of parents attended ‘Impact’, where they were told about the art of parenting, the importance of education, students’ regular attendance at schools, career opportunities, success stories of students and evils of early girl marriages, especially among rural parents.

“The programme takes place after every term. Parents must put end to early girl child marriages and let the girl children study,” said Secretary R.S. Praveen Kumar.

They should also make sacrifices in providing the best possible education for their children, as education alone would bring light in the lives of poor children, he told them.

He thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Minister for Scheduled Caste Development G. Jagadish Reddy for their concern and vision for the educational progress of the poor children under KG-PG scheme.

“Honestly, I would not have afforded the kind of education and food being provided to our children by the government on par with any best private school,” said Mallela Balraju, father of a student who attended ‘Impact’ at Hayathnagar.

Another parent Sucharitha pointed out that the children here were getting exposed to a number of activities and summer camps free of cost.

“I have never seen any private school taking up such nurturing programmes for empowerment of the children. Thanks to Dr. Praveen Kumar for his selfless efforts in constantly motivating the poor children to think big and aim high in life despite their poor family background.”
