Residents seek increase in location points

Residents of Muralinagar and Madhavadhara have sought more trips of the mobile rythu bazaar in the locality and at different locations on the three days. In the schedule announced by the Marketing Department for various locations, only one day- Monday- was allotted to Muralinagar/ Madhavadhara.

The three wards- 38, 39 and 40- have about two lakh population. Residents, particularly senior citizens, find it difficult to go to rytu bazar at Narasimhangar or Marripalem VUDA Layout.

While the idea of a mobile rythu bazaar with a van bringing fresh vegetables and fruits is welcome, locating the mobile bazaar at Muralinagar/Madhavadhara junction means residents have to come all the way from the widespread area to that point spending money again on travel by autos, honorary president of Commuters and Welfare Association Y. Venkatachalam has represented in a memorandum to Joint Collector G. Srijana.

Also there is a possibility of retail sellers taking advantage of the mobile bazar and re-selling them to consumers as vendors have already formed a syndicate there, he says.

Hence the trips should be increased to thrice a week on alternate days and the points should be located at more places apart from Varma Complex, Balabhanu/Apoorva School and Madavadhara Junction bus stop, Mr. Venkatachalama suggests.

Since a survey had already been carried out by officials concerned to locate a permanent rythu bazar in one of the 11 parks in the area, it should also be done as early as possible, he urged officials.
