Honeywell India eyes multi-fold jump in air purifier biz

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Home technologies firm Honeywell today said it is looking at a multi-fold jump in its air purifier business over the next two years.

The company, which today launched two new indoor air purifier ranges, has also created a public awareness campaign to educate people about the unknown hazards of indoor air pollution.

"We are looking at a growth of five times of our (air purifier business) base today. In 2016, we sold 1.25 lakh air purifiers," Honeywell President Vikas Chadha told PTI.

The company claims to be one of the top three players in the air purifier segment in the country.

It makes products, software and technologies in segments such as consumer and home, aerospace, defence, security, buildings and construction, among others.

When asked about awareness in the Indian market about the product, Chadha said: "I don't think many Indians know about the importance of indoor air quality and so our idea is to create awareness and that is what we are planning to do."

Honeywell will sell its products online through Amazon and Flipkart and would also be tapping the large format retail stores besides the traditional route.

It has a wide portfolio available to address pollution inside home, cars and institutions.
