A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 20-year-old man in east Delhi’s Mayur Vihar on two occasions during which he made videos of the act and shared them with others. The accused has been arrested along with two of his friends. A minor has also been apprehended.
According to the police, the girl was raped for the first time in July when the accused, Dheeraj, tricked her into going to his house. The victim was allegedly raped for the second time in the third week of August in the secluded fields of the area.
“Dheeraj asked her to take a stroll and then took her to the fields where he forced himself on her in front of three of his friends.
He then asked two of them to shoot the video and the third one to stand guard and alert them if anyone arrives,” said a senior police officer.
Threatened girl
The accused allegedly threatened the girl to not inform anyone about the incident or he would share the video. “They also threatened the girl with pouring acid on her face if she opened her mouth,” said the officer.
The matter, however, was reported to the police on Saturday when the girl’s family approached them.
The police said that the minor accused showed the video to one of his friends, who further informed his father. The friend’s father then informed the father of the girl, who broke down and recounted her ordeal.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Omvir Singh said that all the four were nabbed from their residence.
“Main accused Dheeraj, his friends Neeraj and Ajay were arrested on Sunday,” he said, adding that they were booked under Section 376 (punishment for rape) of the IPC and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
