7th Delhi International Jazz Festival to kick off from Sept 23

The national capital is set to witness a convergence of top Jazz artistes from all over the world at 7th International Jazz Festival starting from September 23.

Organised by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), the three-day music festival will be held at Nehru Park, Chanakyapuri here.

Originating in the late 19th century in the African- American communities, Jazz genre gained popularity across regions and soon out to the world.

"ICCR played an important role in spreading the genre within Indian boundaries by holding international Jazz festival for past seven years. The festival organised by ICCR experienced great appreciation and overwhelming responses from the audiences of and other parts of India," the organisers said.

The festival will come to an end on September 25.
