Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav and his party have hit back at chief minister Yogi Adityanath and his six- month-old government over the release of a white paper on “failure of the previous governments”.
Tweeting a picture of a one paise farm loan waiver certificate of a Mathura farmer, Akhliesh said: “Bhool chukey jo apna sankalp patra, shweta patra unka bahana hai (The white paper is an excuse by those who have forgotten their poll promises)”
The picture of the waiver certificate is of a farmer Chhidddi, son of Dal Chanda of Govardhan tehsil of Mathura district. The certificate says the government has waived his Re 0.01 under the farm loan waiver scheme and the amount has been transferred to his bank account.
The white paper released by chief minister Yogi Adityanath alleging “failure” of previous governments in Uttar Pradesh is an attempt to “hide failures and shirk responsibility,” Samajwadi Party state spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said.
“In fact, the BJP did not want to work. It has not shown any interest in starting new schemes,” Chaudhary said.

The SP spokesman claimed that despite having the “double engine” advantage, as the BJP was ruling at the Centre also, the state government was not moving towards developing the state.
The BJP came to power by befooling the people, he alleged. The administrative machinery had failed and the development work had stopped, he added.
