Open jeep tours were launched in Mysuru on Monday offering tourists an option to go visit destinations in an open-top vehicle.
Started by a travel company in Mysuru, the open jeep tours will offer two scheduled trips daily with each tour covering various heritage and other destinations in the city in two hours.
The jeeps, which can accommodate six tourists, will start the tour from Lalitha Mahal Palace and end at Mysuru palace. The destinations covered include Chamundi Hill view point, Government Guest House, Wellington House, Clock Tower, Devaraja Market, Lansdowne Building, and Gun House, among others.
Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, scion of the erstwhile royal family of Mysuru, who inaugurated the open jeep tours started by Safe Wheels on Monday, said a large number of tourists visiting Mysuru merely see the Mysuru palace and return. “In every corner of the city, there is a story to tell,” he said and hoped the tours would help tell such stories to the visitors.
